studio habits of mind
The Studio Habits of Mind are thinking dispositions that students develop in the art classroom and in other aspects of their lives. These dispositions illuminate many aspects of the creative process, including those not often highlighted in art classrooms. I use the Studio Habits of Mind as a framework for developing students’ creative and critical thinking. I also use the framework for assessment—instead of focusing solely on final products, I focus on students’ ability to access these thinking dispositions and grow their capacity to use them over time.
